More Currencies for The NZ Dollar

After building a Twitter bot last year using Python and having it run nice and smoothly for quite some time I realized recently that it had stopped working due to the deprecation of the Yahoo Finance API that I had built my script upon.

To ensure the bot could continue to thrive on the Twittersphere I created a new version using Fixer’s free exchange rate service, using Node / ES6 Javascript.

Another great addition too is that this week Twitter officially rolled out 280 character support across all of their services including their developer API, which meant that The NZ Dollar could finally support more currencies! So with this new version Korean Won, Swiss Franc and South African Rand are now included in each hourly tweet.

Check out the script for yourself over on Github.
