More Currencies for The NZ Dollar

After building a Twitter bot last year with Python and have it hum along nicely for quite some time I realized suuddenly that it had stopped working due to the deprecation of the Yahoo Finance API.

To ensure the bot could continue to thrive in the Twittersphere I created a new version, using Fixer’s free exchange rate service, built with Node / ES6 Javascript.

In addition reworking the script itself Twitter officially rolled out 280 character support across all of their services at the same time, including their developer API. This meant that The NZ Dollar could finally support more currencies!

As of the latest release The NZ Dollar now supports Korean Won, Swiss Franc and South African Rand. See for yourself in the Tweet below.

Curious about this bot works? Check out the script over on Github.
